People of Potential
Previously known as Hunts User Forum (HUF).
This is a group of like minded people getting together with a common goal of improving communication with ourselves when we are with others. We may find friends on the way that’s what makes the group what it is.
This is a group of people who have experiences of Huntingdonshire Mental Health Services from GP’s to Acute Services, people from all walks of life can join this group as long as they have experience with Mental Health Services. It is supported by Hunts Mind and run by Service Users for Service Users and it has been in existence for about 9 years.
Some of our aims are:
- To meet regularly (once a month).
- To have a comfortable place that we feel safe which is The Limes 24 New Street St. Neots and we can talk in confidence without being judged.
- Campaign about local and national issues, commenting on policies and procedures from the NHS Trust and Voluntary Sector Social Services.
- A forum for communication from us to them and them to us.
- To give training on skills and needs. e.g. communication skills.
- To help change attitudes from the public and professionals around mental health issues.
Our mission statement is:
Together we use our experiences to support and help other users improve and develop Mental Health Services. Through information, we aim to bring about empowerment to change, while promoting acceptance in Mental Health.
